What NVIDIA announced

NVIDIA says an updated DLSS 5 neural-rendering model will debut in NBA 2K27 on October 16, with other game support following later. Its October 13 post also announces a separate Frame Generation Performance Mode beta available through the NVIDIA app. These are different features with different availability dates.

Why it belongs in an AI introduction

Not every AI model answers a chat prompt. Here, the model participates in rendering a game’s images. Its useful measures include visual quality, responsiveness, and hardware requirements, rather than how well it writes a paragraph. A faster component also does not automatically make the entire game twice as fast.

Our coverage boundary

The performance figures and rollout schedule come from NVIDIA. We have not tested the update or installed the beta. Check the supported game, graphics hardware, and release date before assuming the feature applies to your computer.
