What is changing

On October 13, Meta announced Your algorithm, a Facebook feature for managing the topics you want in Feed and Reels. Meta says it is rolling out through the three-dot menu on posts. Feedback controls may also ask you to explain why you liked or disliked something.

Where AI comes in

Meta says large language models help its recommendation systems interpret written preferences and adjust suggestions during the same session. This is AI inside a familiar app: a sentence can become an input to a recommendation system.

A simple way to think about it

Our made-up example: “More beginner gardening ideas, please.” It illustrates the idea; we have not tested that request or the feature. These are Meta’s reported capabilities, and a rollout announcement does not establish availability on your account.
